AIDS stands for: Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome

AIDS is a medical condition. A person is diagnosed with AIDS when their immune system is too weak to fight off infections.

Since the first cases of AIDS were identified in 1981, more than 25 million people have died from AIDS. An estimated 1.8 million people died as a result of AIDS in 2009 alone.

AIDS is caused by HIV.

HIV is a virus that gradually attacks immune system cells. As HIV progressively damages these cells, the body becomes more vulnerable to infections, which it will have difficulty in fighting off. It is at the point of very advanced HIV infection that a person is said to have AIDS. It can be years before HIV has damaged the immune system enough for AIDS to develop.

I am a pacifist because I don't like the war. I think we all should be happy. We shouldn't have to fight over stuff. I don't like it when random people get shoot because they live around the area.

Veterans Day posters

I like the 1995 one because it has a man who served in the war and he has his pins on. On the 2010 one I don't really know the places they said that at the top. But I like how they put the flag. The poster for 1995 is when I was born. The different's is there is a person and different colors. The 2010 poster just has a flag and different places and things at the top.

Free?

On the 7th of November Myanmar is holding an election for the first time in 20 years. But it really isn't a real election. There are over 2,200 people in jail for what they think. So it really isn't a majority of the people voting because most of them are in jail for what they think. They Don't have the freedom to express there self even in a peaceful association, they are all silenced.

In Maine Today we are voting. When I turn 18 I do plan on voting. I might not always want to but I plan on trying to vote. I think I would value the opportunity to express myself more if it was taken away because I am one of the people who like the say what they wont when they won't. I would not like going to jail for saying my opinion.

Book Buzz

The book I am reading is You Can Run But You Can't Hide by Daune Chapman "dog". This book is about Dog growing up and being a drug user and going to jail after having a kid. Then he turns his life around and then starts doing drugs again. After having a couple kids he finally turned his life around and started Bounty Hunting. One major conflict in this story is when he has a kid and he has to go to jail and he gets a letter saying his wife left him and she is taking his kid. I love this book because I like having the thrill of what Dog does. I was recommend this book to girls and boys and people who like having a little thrill. This book is really not that long, but it is good in length. The structure is mostly just him talking about everything that happened in his life growing up. "Tell them I'm at work, Tell them I already left."

New school

I would like to find out why we are getting a new school. I know that this one has been here for many years, but it doesn't look like there is anything wrong with it. They could just do some minor fixes and then it would be okay for the next couple years. But instead they want to pay thousands of dollars to make a new one. Well I guess it is a good thing but I just don't want to have to be here when the hole thing is going on.

BLOGGING

In the beginning of the year we had to make these blogs and I was like what is a blog because I didn't have a clue. So we work with them in class for a while so we all could get used to them. Then I learned more and more about the blogging system. My blogging has gotten way better, I don't have to ask how to get there or how to do this or that. It is easy now. I can improve my blogging by blogging more everyday. Blogging about stuff I would like to know and just over all blogging about fun stuff.

Creative English class

I picked this picture because it looks to me like someone had a lot of fun painting these things just like I did in english class this year. It was a lot of fun and I hope next year is to.

English class 09

One thing I am taking away from this class is that I figured out that I really don't like to blog. I just don't like having to try to put my thoughts in a post. It is just kinda hard for me. I also didn't really like reading but toward the end of the year I started to like it more and more. I also liked that we can mess with the teacher and she wouldn't get mad but when she was serious you better be ready to be serious. I just over all like this class.

Daniel X

The Dangers of Daniel X was the book I read this year. The author is James Patterson. The book was about this kid, His family had been killed and his dad was an alien killer. Daniel wanted to take after is father so he became an alien killer. He went around trying to find all these alien's that were on his dad's list to kill. Daniel could make is mom, dad, sister and all his friends just appear there, that is how he made is through the list and killed all of them. The most major conflict in the book I would say is his family dying. I like the book because it was thrilling. I like that is was easy to get into. I didn't like that it went back and forth in between people. I think that series lovers,boy and girls and maybe some teens. The book as a little long, but it was not that hard to read once I got into it I was ready to read all of it. There was a lot of going back and forth talking because they were having conversations but it is not that hard.

Romeo and Juliet

This poem explains that both of there family's are fighting and have been because they are two different family's that don't like each other. Juliet wanted to marry Romeo but they wanted her to marry Paris but she didn't want to. So she took some poison they would make her stop breathing and her hole body stops and when Romeo found out he killed himself because e thought she died. So when she woke up she saw him dead and then killed herself.

The differences they have

I drew a circle on one side and a square on the other side and a line in the middle of them. I drew this because I think that Romeo and juliet are two different people. Thier parents don't want them to be together. So that is why I picked the one with a line in the middle because they are trying to get married but Juliet's parents don't want them to get married.

They can't really tell anyone because Romeo is already banished and if they knew he was still there he would get killed. So they really cant see each other unless Romeo wants to get killed.

Food

School boys, working people and housewives either get up around 5 or 6 am or even earlier. Breakfast is a matter of breaking someone’s fast on arising. Breakfast was not considered the most important meal of the day. A man who can’t cadge a dinner invitation may say he is “dining with Duke Humphrey tonight.” Many house didn’t have a proper kitchen, you could cook over the hearth, or prepare your food and take it to a cook shop and pick it up later. You can make your own bread and then take it to a baker and they will cook it for a fee. I learned that the housewives have to get up really early. I also learned that they didn't think breakfast is the most important meat of the day.

Book Review: The Dangerous Days Of Daniel X

My book review is going to be over the book The Dangerous Days of Daniel X. The sense of major conflict in the story was Daniel X had to fight all these different aliens because one alien killed his mom, dad and little sister. Then he gets kidnapped by one of the aliens he as to fight. The loves and hates I have for this book are; I really liked this book. I'm really not a big reader but, I got right into it. I liked how he never gave up and he fought the aliens. There was nothing I hated about this book. I recommended this book to boys and girls, Sci-if fans and some series lovers. The reason I say series lovers is because there is a lot of series to the James Patterson's books. It isn't very long it is a pretty fast read. There isn't a lot on the pages. The structure; there is a lot of different people talking but, it is mostly just conversations.

What I would like to discuss

I would like to discuss the different ingredient's that make food. Like what is in a regular hamburger or any fast food. I have heard different stuff but I don't know what to believe. I just would like to know what I am eating. I would like to know how many different meats goes into one hamburger and what's put in fast food. I would like to see the ingredient's that are put into the fast food people are eating. I have just always been interested in what I am really eating.

Haiti report

There was a big earthquake in Haiti and it killed around 230,000 people. It damaged a lot of buildings. There is a lot of people trying to raise money because almost all of Haiti is gone. There is a lot of different places donating money. There were a lot of people hurt. There are a lot of people that need medical help. Most of them need major medical help. There is pollution in the air because of all the buildings with different things in them that feel down. Which that makes it sometime harder to breath. There are a lot of people who are still homeless. With all the rain that Haiti got almost all of the streets and roads are flooded and that is what people are drinking. How can I become a better blogger

My blogging goals are to lengthen my blogs by a lot and learn how to blog better, Learn how to tell more information about the subject I am blogging about. Show more emotions in my blog posts. My writing goals for the rest of the year is to write more, send letters to people and write better, Learning the meanings of bigger words. Make sure I write just what I want, not the long way around. Make is so the reader doesn't have to read into my post. Read over my blogs and make sure there isn't anything wrong.

Women and Work

People that were pushing women to work during the war are now stressing and saying that women's place was in a home cooking, cleaning and raising children. Women were discouraged from attending any colleges. A smaller percentage of women attended collage in the 1950's then had attended in the 1920's. Thirty percent of married women had worked in the year of 1960 and forty percent of women had school aged children. Many of the women were glad to leave there jobs for high paying job durning that wartime industries.
