Women and work


People that were pushing women to work during the war are now stressing and saying that women's place was in a home cooking, cleaning and raising children. Women were discouraged from attending any colleges. A smaller percentage of women attended collage in the 1950's then had attended in the 1920's. Thirty percent of married women had worked in the year of 1960 and forty percent of women had school aged children. Many of the women were glad to leave there jobs for high paying job durning that wartime industries.
